Tetrandrine, chemically named (S,S)-(+)-Tetrandrine, is a dibenzylisoquinoline alkaloid extracted from Stephania tetrandra, a plant of the Menispermaceae family. Its molecular formula is C38H42N2O6, molecular weight is 622.75, and it is a colorless needle- shaped crystal. It is almost insoluble in water and petroleum ether, but soluble in ether and some organic solvents. Tetrandrine is mainly extracted from the root of Stephania tetrandra, a plant of the Menispermaceae family. Its chemical structure is stable, and its melting point is 217-218°C

Description:
